Halsey To Star In New TV Series ‘The Player’s Table’

Halsey is set to make her acting debut in an upcoming series, called “The Player’s Table,” which is based on Jessica Goodman‘s novel “They Wish They Were Us.”

Halsey will star alongside Sydney Sweeney, who is known for “Sharp Objects,” “The Handmaid’s Tale” and “Euphoria.”

The series revolves around an elite Long Island prep school and a secret society dubbed the Players. Sweeney will play Jill Newman, a senior who tries to uncover the mystery behind the death of her best friend Shaila, who was allegedly killed by her boyfriend Graham three years prior.

Halsey will co-star as Graham’s sister, Rachel Calloway, a former Player who’s convinced her brother is innocent.

Sweeney’s newly-lanuched Fifty-Fifty Films will executive produce the show along with Jean-Marc Vallée and Nathan Ross‘ Crazyrose and Endeavor Content.

Halsey and Sweeney notably worked together previously when the actress appeared in the singer’s video for “Graveyard,” off her 2020 album Manic.

Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley Interested In Collab With The Eagles

Florida Georgia Line‘s Brian Kelley has revealed that he is interested in collaborating with The Eagles, especially with country singer Vince Gill performing with the band. That would be a dream come true, according to the singer.

“I know that Vince Gill is singing with them now, which I can’t even imagine. The Eagles were already the Eagles; they were already amazing, and then you add Vince Gill. It’s just pretty wild. Hopefully next year we can catch a show and maybe do a collab,” Kelley said in a recent episode of “FGL House Party Radio” on Apple Music Country.

Kelley said the Eagles’ famous “Hotel California” remains one of his all time favorite songs, as it is “sexy, it’s dark, it’s a vibe.”

He also recalled advice he received from musician and rapper Nelly the first time they met.

“I remember one of the first times that we met, he said ‘You’re only the new guys once so be good, work hard,’” Kelley said. “It didn’t hit me when I first heard that. I was like, ‘That’s interesting. I’m sure that’s some really good advice.’”

“But we’ve been doing this for a couple more years since then now, and looking back at that, it’s an interesting thought when you’re not necessarily the new guy anymore, and you already had that chance to make your mark and meet people and put songs out,”he added.

Katy Perry Shares Animated Videos For ‘Resilient,’ ‘What Makes A Woman’

Katy Perry has dropped highly creative and adorable animated videos for “Resilient” and “What Makes A Woman,” two of the songs from her latest album, Smile.

The video for “Resilient” shows a seed out of a bird’s droppings, growing through the cracks into a big, blooming tree. A plastic bag that floats through the air seems to explain Katy’s “Firework” lyric, “Do you ever feel like a plastic bag? Drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?”

The visual, directed by Aya Tanimura, also features Perry’s late cat Kitty Purry, her dog Nugget and her fiancé Orlando Bloom‘s late dog Mighty. Perry is seen stepping out of the bus at the end, holding her newborn daughter Daisy Dove. A pair of ants, a butterfly and several easter eggs also appear in the video.

The video for “What Makes a Woman” highlights all kinds of strong, beautiful women.

In addition to “Resilient,” “What Makes A Woman” and the title track, the Smile album also contains “Daisies,” “Never Really Over” and “Harleys in Hawaii.” Perry had earlier released two music videos for “Smile.”

Foreigner have shared a live video of “Waiting For A Girl Like You” from a reunion show in 2017.

The live performance video of “Waiting For A Girl Like You” is from the band’s reunion set Double Vision: Then and Now. The band’s current and original lineups had reunited to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the band in 2017.

The live performance was filmed during a 2017 performance at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. The concert’s lineup featured original members Lou Gramm, Al Greenwood, Dennis Elliott, Ian McDonald and Rick Wills alongside Mick Jones and Foreigner’s newest lineup featuring Kelly Hansen, Tom Gimbel, Jeff Pilson, Michael Bluestein, Bruce Watson and Chris Frazier.

“Waiting For A Girl Like You” was a hit song from from the band’s 1981 release, 4, which topped the Billboard 200 and sold more than 7 million copies in the country.

Billie Eilish Talks About Wanting To Keep Relationships Private

During a recent interview with Capital Breakfast host Roman Kemp, Billie Eilish said she would keep her personal relationships private.

“I definitely want to keep [relationships] private. I’ve had relationships and kept them private, and even the ones that I’ve had; with the tiny amount that I’ve let the world see, I regret,” said Billie.

“I think about it sometimes. I think about the people that have made their relationships public, and then they break up, and it’s like, ‘What if it goes bad?’”

The “My Future” singer later expressed that one of the reasons she didn’t want to make her future relationships public was because she was concerned that everyone would have an opinion on it. “It’s very much something I’m not interested in,” she said.

Eilish recently made her debut on NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series, recreating the office desk. She was accompanied by her brother Finneas.

“Dancing With the Stars” has revealed its cast for its upcoming season, which will include rapper Nelly and Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean.

Other celebrities set to feature on the 29th season of the dance competition series include Carole Baskin of Tiger King fame, “Desperate Housewives” actor Jesse Metcalfe, Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir, Super Bowl champion Vernon Davis, former NBA player Charles Oakley, actress Anne Heche, and Chrishell Stause.

Others stars set to perform this year include Monica Aldama, Skai Jackson, Justina Machado, Jeannie Maim, and Nev Schulman.

J-Lo Reveals How Encounter With Billie Eilish Made Her Appreciate Fans More

Jennifer Lopez has recalled meeting Billie Eilish, which the Latino superstar described as “mind-blowing.”

In an interview for fiancé A-Rod and Big Cat’s podcast, “The Corp,” J-Lo was asked which young talents she found inspiring, to which she replied, “Billie Eilish. My daughter is in love with her. We had a real moment at the Billie Eilish concert that was like, ‘Oh my god, we’re bonding right now. It’s amazing.’”

“I watched my daughter freak out over Billie Eilish … She walked in the room after the concert, and my daughter goes [gasps with hand over her mouth]. And I looked at her, and I’m like, ‘What’s the matter?’ and she’s, literally, the tears because she’s idolized this girl. For whatever reason, her songs and the words she says she connects to, and she loves her style. Whatever it is moves her,” Lopez explained.

“It made me appreciate what I do more, my fans more, what Billie did for my daughter,” she added. “All of it, it was like a full circle moment. We love Billie.”

J-Lo said that she also loves young popstar, Ariana Grande.

“I love Ariana Grande,” she said. “I think she’s super talented. It’s not just her beautiful voice. It’s her spirit. It’s her comedy. It’s her ability to do different things. I love seeing that.”

Farm Aid Holding Virtual Festival To Celebrate 35th Anniversary

Willie Nelson and company have once again planned a riveting Farm Aid Festival to be held virtually this year.

The 35th-anniversary edition of Nelson’s yearly Farm Aid concert is scheduled to take place between 8 and 11 pm on Saturday, September 26.

In addition to performances by the founding fathers of the event, namely Nelson himself, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, and Dave Matthews, the lineup for the benefit also includes artists of the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton, Margo Price, Nathaniel Rateliff, Particle Kid, and The Record Company, among others.

This year’s event will be focused around the most pressing challenges that the world is facing today, including the COVID-19 pandemic as well as issues such as climate change, racial injustice, and one of the longstanding main themes of the benefit, sustainable agriculture.

“This pandemic and so many other challenges have revealed how essential family farmers and ranchers are to the future of our planet,” shared Neslon.

He added,”Farm Aid 2020 is going to give the whole country a chance to learn about the important work of farmers and how they’re contributing to our well-being, beyond bringing us good food.”

Lady Gaga also won the first-ever MTV Tricon Award. Meanwhile, Grande bagged four awards.

The duo, both masked, also staged the debut performance of “Rain on Me” during the star-studded, mask-centric two-hour event.

The Weeknd‘s “Blinding Lights” was adjudged the best Video of the Year. It was also selected as Best R&B.

The Canadian artist dedicated his two awards speeches to justice for Jacob Blake and Breonna Taylor.

Billie Eilish Recreates NPR Offices For ‘Tiny Desk (Home) Concert’

Billie Eilish recreated the NPR offices with cardboard cut-outs for the “Tiny Desk (Home) Concert” on August 26.

Eilish began the mini concert, playing her latest single “My Future” on the keyboard, accompanied by her brother Finneas.

“But I, I’m in love/ With my future/ And you don’t know her/ And I, I’m in love/ But not with anybody here/ I’ll see you in a couple years,” she crooned on the dreamy ballad’s final stanza.

Due to the virus pandemic, they performed the concert from home. “So obviously, we are not actually at Tiny Desk, because this is a cardboard cut-out of it. But it’s still real, it’s just not in-person real,” Eilish said, gesturing around the office replica between songs.

“Quarantine’s been weird; I know you all feel the same. It’s been weird, we don’t know how long it’s gonna go. There’s barely anything that feels like there’s any hope in, but I think the future is something to be super hopeful in, and the unknown and what is to come. We’ll be OK one day,” she concluded. “Maybe not one day, but I think that’s what has been making me hold on.”

Eilish and Finneas concluded their performance with 2019’s “Everything I Wanted.”

“I had a dream/ I got everything I wanted/ But when I wake up, I see/ You with me/ And you say, ‘As long as I’m here/ No one can hurt you/ Don’t wanna lie here/ But you can learn to,’” Eilish sang, with Finneas coming out with his harmonies on the latter part of the chorus.

After the concert, the camera revealed the plywood stage set up inside the siblings’ home.
